Square credit card processing app- THE REVOLUTION!
Though credit cards have revolutionized bussinesses all over the world, many a times we do face situations in which we would regret not taking enough ready cash with us, in our daily lives. This would be either because of high chances of the swiping machine having mechanical faults or because of the unavailability of credit card acceptance in your downtown coffee shop. So when I tell that we surely could imagine a future in which we could conduct even garage sales using credit card processing, you would be naturally astonished and surprised, just as I were when I first heard about Square. This great innovation would drastically transform arena of present-day business. It is a credit card processing application, which works on your iPhone or Android and an Internet connection. The company could be called a pioneer in this new field of business service, the mobile credit card providing.
Square is presently available only in the United States. It requires a U.S bank account, a U.S address and a social security number, or a tax ID number for signing up into this novel service. The only hardware you need is a Square reader, which comes in a very sleek design of a small squire, a quarter of an inch thick, with rounded edges. It is provided by Square without any charges, and it can be connected to your iPhone or Android through the audio jack.
The Square reader is a very hassle free device and performs the function of the conventional swiping machine. Even if you don’t have the Square reader, you can utilize its services, by typing in the credit card number. But mind you, it does cost a bit more in terms of the transaction fee as these transactions would be considered to be “card-less transactions”.
The security concerns could be readily brushed aside, as it is taken care of quite admirably. There is a password protected ‘log-in ‘ system and this adds to the security features. Squire, could also substitute the usual swiping machine, which is very costly. Also, these machines would cost you a wireless maintenance fee every month.
Square card reader can be used in three different ways:
•Firstly, it can be used in cash transactions as a receipt provider. It sends the receipt to the mail id of the customer.
•Secondly, it can be used in “card-less” transactions. All you have to do is type in the credit card number.
•Thirdly, the normal credit based transaction, which requires the swiping of the card in the Square reader.
Square has the potential to bring about a huge change in the credit-card processing business, and re-mould it for the better convenience of the customers through innovation.

I signed up to accept credit cards on my phone and had my first charge on Tuesday, Feb/15/2011. I am yet to have the money deposited to my account and also am unable to verify my account. I have sent four four emails to customer service since last tuesday and have not recieved a response yet. Does anyone know how I can contact a live customer service agent? a phone number?
