The Document Corrupter is simple to use, where you upload the file to the website and download the “corrupted” document. You also have the option to shuffle the information in the document, making it impossible to recover the file, even though it may not produce a nice error message.
The website recommends that you do not save the created file in the same folder as it may overwrite the original file. The app works with Microsoft Word formats from 97 to 2007. It shows you a log of the conversion. It is free, and does not require a signup.
As the corrupted file has the same filename, file size, and metadata as the original file, it won’t look like a blank file.
