BlipSnips – Share and Collaborate Moments within Favorite Videos
Sharing videos online has become a child’s play; but what if a user really wants to focus on just a couple of specific scenes in a long video? Well that’s where BlipSnips comes into the picture. BlipSnips makes online video sharing and viewing remarkably easy.
Using BlipSnips you can link your friend’s right to the good stuff. Explain every clip in your own words, and share your BlipSnips tags with any social network. What’s more? You can even find out who else is tagging the video when and where; or just save your place in a long video like a bookmark! Isn’t that cool?
In a traditional video tool, users would have to skip the video to get to a particular part required however; with BlipSnips, users have been provided with alternatives such as tag specific scenes so that the viewer can directly jump to that part, to use, enter a YouTube or Vimeo URL and play the video. At any point where users feel the need to add a tag, they can just click on the “Tag it” button and add a small description, add as many tags as they want, get a direct link for each tag and even let viewers post comments on individual tags instead of the whole video.

Currently in the beta stage, BlipSnips can also be accessed on Facebook. In order to access this application you don’t necessarily need to have an account with BlipSnips; your Facebook account is good enough! Once you logon to the Facebook home page, you will be given the option to search for videos from YouTube, or drop in a URL from a YouTube or Vimeo video you grabbed while surfing the webs. Once that’s done, you will drop into the “tagging” user interface to tag your favorite spots in the video you want to share with your friends. This is exactly the same function you have on BlipSnips. You use the Play It button to roll the vide; hit that same button again to pause the video at the moment you find interesting, and write a comment about it.
Once you’re done tagging, you can hit on the “Share” button and you’re ready to put your work of curated art on your Facebook wall! Facebook will pop up a dialog for you to make it easy to write a note about your BlipSnipped video and ‘publish’ it to your wall. And that’s all there is to it! Now, your friends will see your wall post about your BlipSnipped video and when they visit the player page, they can interact with the moment-in-time tags you’ve created as well as share the BlipSnip with their friends as well as leave in their comments.
