Windows Live SkyDrive is an online service provided by Microsoft that is used for storing and sharing files and other documents. In order to use this service one needs to have a Windows Live ID. It gives the user the ability to upload the files to computing cloud which can then be accessed by others with the help of a web browser. Windows Live SkyDrive uses Windows Live ID to control the access of the users data and files, giving them the freedom to keep certain files private and share the ones that are required with contacts. But in order to access publicly shared files one doesn’t need to have a Windows Live ID.

Window Live SkyDrive include features like: Windows Live Photos, Windows Live Office, Bing integration, Windows Live Group Integration among other services.

Window Live SkyDrive offers 25 Gb of free storage for photos and documents, you can store your documents including photos online, and as stated before can restrict and allow access to them according to your preference. Apart from 25 GB of free online storage, SkyDrive is also available in around 13 more languages and the folders can be downloaded as Zip files, it also displays your photos in an attractive slide show.

Apart from documents and pictures SkyDrive also provides web applications for Office, like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint document which you can work on and share online as desired. These office services can be used even if you don’t have Microsoft Office’s latest version installed.
