What Font Is – Identify the Font You Want
A website to differentiate and identify different types of fonts has been developed. What Font Is, is a free web-based service that helps identify and find alternatives of fonts in documents and online text. Users looking to upload, identify or determine types of fonts can submit an image with the font they are looking for or simply upload and mention the URL of the image including the text.
The text must be written in one line and saved in jpeg, gif or png format. It must be horizontal and the letters should not touch each other. For better results, the resolution of the letters must be over 80 pixels while the background color must be lighter than the characters color.
In addition, the maximum number of characters that can be submitted to determine the font type is ten while the minimum is two. The images should follow the grayscale digital imaging so that the value of each pixel can be determined as a single sample while the maximum file size that can be uploaded and reviewed is1.8MB.
The service also offers its users the option to include free and commercial fonts in the results. Users can browse a gallery of 70,000 plus fonts under the “All Fonts” menu on the website.
