Doculicious – Create Embeddable Web Forms that Generate PDF Documents

Australian-based Digital Carpenter Pty Ltd, founded by Chris Carpenter and Yun Song, launched their web application Doculicious on November 2008. The application has been designed with a purpose to allow people create formatted, graphical documents within their browsers thereby making it possible for them to fill out online forms easily.

The service enables people with websites add forms that can be filled out online by visitors using embedded PDF documents. When a form is filled, a PDF download of the file can be printed out by the user. Once the form filling is completed, a notification is sent to the webmaster informing him that the file is ready for processing that way keeping the information of the users secure on the webmaster’s account. In addition, the forms are customizable allowing the webmaster to make changes in order to match the style and design of his site.

The developers of this application came up with this idea when they saw that many organizations and companies still used static PDF files, forcing their clients to download, print and handwrite them. They realized that their solution could easily be modified allowing anyone to create templates and then embed them onto their websites.

Some notable features of this application are: receiving alerts when someone completes your online form, track, manage and process form entries, export user entered data from your forms as PDF or CSV, allow up to 20 PDF’s for free accounts with only one being active at a time and free active forms up to 50 submissions per month.
