Today social networks leading the world and spammers are taking advantage of this heavy traffic by sending unsafe links on such type of networks. These spammers generally create their profiles on social networking sites such as twitters and they post the links to their websites by replying to other people posts or with hash tags.

The spammers actually shorten their URL using some URL shortened websites and create a masked URL. Let suppose www.spammyspam.com/spam.html is the original URL then they simply shorten this URL as bit.ly or tinyurl.com. Users don’t know what this site is all about once they click on them they visit these links thinking that those are relevant since they are included in the post.

As discussed earlier this site provides a preview before getting started with it, where this preview page displays a thumbnail image of the website they are about to visit with the title and full web address of the page so this decides whether the user to visit the site or not since user now know that the website is a spam.
